Journalist Hadi Hidayat Bereaved, Ganderbal Press Association Condoles Uncle’s Demise

Ganderbal: The Ganderbal Press Association has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Ghulam Hassan Sheikh (52), uncle of senior journalist Hadi Hidayat, Editor-in-Chief of The Newscast and a member of the Association.

A resident of Sheikh Mohallah Margund Kangan, the deceased passed away at his residence after a prolonged illness. He was serving in the J&K Police Department.

Son of Late Haji Ghulam Muhammad Sheikh, he was the brother of Abdul Hamid Sheikh (Retd. NT), Abdul Majid Sheikh (Revenue Department), Fayaz Ahmad Sheikh (Education Department), and Muzaffar Ahmad Sheikh. He is survived by his sons, Sheikh Shahid-ul-Islam and Sheikh Aqib Ullah & Sheikh Mansoor & a daughter.

The news of his demise has deeply saddened the fraternity of the Ganderbal Press Association. Members of the Association extended their heartfelt condolences to Hadi Hidayat and his bereaved family during this hour of grief.

The Association prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss. It also expressed solidarity with Hadi Hidayat and his family in this difficult time.

Meanwhile, the funeral prayers were held at Eidgah Margund Kangan, where hundreds of people participated in the last rites. He was later laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Margund.

May Almighty Allah grant him Jannat-ul-Firdous and give patience and strength to the bereaved family. Ameen.
